Why accounts are for people 16 and older

One age line, everywhere. We ask your birth month and year once, never store them, and never guess. Younger people take part through a parent.

I'm under 16 — how can I be part of a page?

As a person on the page, with memories added in your name by a parent — or with your own profile under a parent's wing, where you write freely and they approve who you meet.

I typed the wrong year and my account closed

An answer under 16 closes the account at once and it's removed after seven days. A slip is undone by writing to us from the account's email.

Reporting an account you think belongs to a child

Report the account with the reason "belongs to someone under 16". You can do this from inside a page you belong to; only we can settle it.

Three positions, per child. People is the default: they write freely on their own page, and anything that reaches another person asks you first.

"Sent to Mum": what an ask is, and how you answer

When a young person does something that would reach another person, it's filed as an ask. They carry on; you see one line on the bell and answer Approve or Not now.

Signing in as a young person, and what "under Mum's wing" means

"A young person?" on the sign-in page takes a sign-in name and passcode. The dashboard says whose wing you're under, and which things will ask first.

Turning 16: choosing an email and password of your own

Supervision ends by itself the month you turn 16. You choose an email and password, your sign-in name stops working, and your parent stays a trusted person until removed.
