Sharing one memory by link, and saving the file itself
The author or a manager can make a link to a single memory — its words and photos, not the page. Anyone who can see a photo can save the original.
A link to one memory
You want to text your sister the video of Dad's speech without handing out the whole page. From the memory's ⋯ → Share this memory…, create a link. Anyone with it sees that memory alone — the words, the photos, the video — and not the page, not the names in the photos, not the hearts or notes.
- The author or a manager makes it; one link per memory, for a week, a month, or until you stop it.
- Stop sharing ends it for everyone who has it.
- A memory that's for members only, unpublished, or whose author keeps their contributions for the page's people can't be shared this way.
- Nobody is told when the link is opened, and nothing is counted.
The page's name and a way to it appear only if the page is already open to visitors, or the reader is a member.
Saving a photo or video
Anyone who can see a photo or video may save the original — the file as it was uploaded, without its GPS. This isn't a sharing feature: if you can see it, you can have it.
