Linking two pages

Mum has a page. Dad has a page. Linking them means each lists the other among the people in their life, with a way across. That is all it does: linking never gives anyone access to a page. Who may read or add to a page is still decided by its privacy and its invitations.

How to link

On a page you look after, the People in their life section has a Link a page button.

• Pages you're on. Every page you belong to that this one doesn't point at yet. If you look after that page too, the link is made both ways at once — there's nobody else to ask. If someone else looks after it, they're asked.
• Or paste a page link. For a page you can't see. Say who the person is (the page can't tell us — it may be private), and the people who look after it are asked. You'll see waiting for their page beside the entry until they answer.

Either way, the entry appears in this page's list right away, with the relationship you chose.

Copying a page's link

Anyone on a page can copy its address from the page's ⋯ menu, beside Invite — Copy link (a page anyone with the link can read, or a public one, has Share there instead). A private page's link only opens for the people on it, so handing it to someone so they can link to it is safe — nothing is shown to anyone else.

Linking back

When another page links to yours, a card appears at the top of your People in their life section: Rex's page lists Biscuit as a friend. Show Rex here as Friend? Link adds the entry with the relationship they proposed; you can reword it afterwards. Not now declines it, and the same entry isn't offered again.

Pets

A pet on a person's page is listed as their pet; two pets' pages link with whatever relationship you choose — friends, siblings. A pet's entry can only link to a pet's page.

What it isn't

Not friending or following. There's no list of links anywhere but each page's own people, no counts, and no notice to anyone but the managers who are asked.
