Life events: the chapters of a life
Birth, school, work, moves, milestones — year-granular chapters managers add under Settings. They give the timeline its spine.
Life at a Glance is the short list of chapters: born in Palermo, came to Canada in 1958, the bakery on College Street, retired to the lake. Managers add them under Settings → This page → Life events, with a year — and a day, when the day matters — and an end year or ongoing.
They're a record, not memories: one answer each. Memories then hang off them on the timeline.
An event with a full day can be marked Remember this day each year — the wedding, the day they came to Canada. It then shows on the page and on the bell when it comes round. See Days to remember.
Marriages, partnerships and their endings are not life events — they're a fact about the person, set in Family & friends. See Relationships with a timeframe.
