Days to remember: birthdays, anniversaries, and a day the page marks
On the day, the page and the bell say so — Nonno would have been 90 today. Managers can mark any dated life event as a day that comes round. A reminder on your phone is up to you.
Some days come round every year: a birthday, the anniversary of a passing, the wedding day, the day they came to Canada. On the day, the page shows a quiet card at the top — Nonno would have been 90 today — and every member sees a line under Today on the bell. Members get a way straight into the composer from the card, because a memory added on the day is the whole point.
Where the days come from
Nothing is entered twice. A birthday comes from the birth date on the page; the anniversary of a passing from the date the page was marked Remembered; and any life event with a full day can be marked Remember this day each year by a manager under Settings → This page → Life events.
On a living person's page the birthday shows without the age unless the page already shows the birth year. A wedding anniversary comes from the spouse or partner in Family & friends once the manager gives the relationship its day (I know the exact day, beside the years) — a late spouse still counts; a divorce or separation ends it.
The reminder
The bell is quiet by default: a dot, never a number, and nothing on your phone. If you'd like a notification on the day, open You on this page — the person icon at the end of the row under the page's photo (on the phone, in the page's ⋯ menu) — tick Remind me of their days and confirm. It's your own switch, per page, and the page's owner can't flip it. There's no email.
