Nurse. Nonna. The reason nobody on the street has ever gone hungry.
2024 · Laughter
Sofia set it up. I was against it. Then Luca sent me a photo of his first apartment and I cried in the pharmacy. Now I text everyone. The children say I shout. I don't shout, the letters are just big so I can see them.

2024 · Napa Valley Avenue, Woodbridge · Food
The week we moved in, Maria appeared at the door with a tray of lasagna and a set of instructions for the recycling schedule. Two years later my kids can make gnocchi from scratch and say "please" in Italian, and I've been promoted from "the new neighbour" to "the girl next door who rolls them too thick." I'm forty-one. I'll take it.

How Nonna would like to be remembered
As the one who fed you — and the one who noticed when you weren't eating. As a nurse who never really stopped, just changed uniforms. As a woman who married a man who asked her to dance four times, and who is still dancing. And as a nonna whose kitchen is always open, whose phone is always on, and who will absolutely text you back. Eventually. In capital letters.
