Trusted people, and the note only they can read
The owner names trusted people — from the page's contributors, or by inviting someone new straight in. They can keep the page going, and read the owner's note about where things are.
If you're ever no longer able to care for a page, your trusted people can keep it going — edit details, add occasions, publish memories. They can't delete the page or change who is trusted. You can name as many as you like: a brother and a sister, say.
Choosing them
Under Settings → People → Trusted people the owner picks anyone already contributing to the page — and asks them. They see the question on their bell and on the page itself, with what the role means and what it can't do, and answer Yes, I'll be a trusted person or Not now. Nothing changes until they say yes; you hear the answer either way, and can take the question back while it's waiting. After a Not now you can ask again in thirty days.
Someone who isn't on the page yet can be invited from the same place with Invite someone new: the invitation is for them by name, and the moment they accept they're a trusted person — accepting is the yes. The link works for the first person to accept and then stops; until then it shows under Open invitations and can be revoked. The invitation itself says what it is, so nobody accepts a role they didn't see coming. Only the owner can send one — a trusted person can't name another.
Stepping down
A trusted person can stop being one at any time, from You on this page → Stop being a trusted person. They stay on the page as a contributor; the owner hears about it and nobody else does. If they were the only trusted person, the owner is told the page has nobody to pass to.
The note to trusted people
Under Settings → People → Trusted people the owner can write one note that only trusted people can read — never contributors, never visitors, never us. It's for where things are: which drawer, which lawyer, who has the key. Not the things themselves — documents are not what this note is for, and it takes no attachments.
If you delete your account
Your pages pass to your longest-serving trusted person, with everything you added still in your name. A page with no trusted person is deleted with your account. See Deleting your account.
