Beyond My Time

Emails from us

Every email we send comes from hello@beyondmytime.life, names the page and the person it's about, and links only to beyondmytime.life. We never ask for a password, a code or money by email.

What a real one looks like

  • It comes from Beyond My Time, hello@beyondmytime.life. The reply goes to the person who invited you, when there is one — never to us.
  • It names the page and the person: Paul invited you to share a memory about Maria; A letter from Rosa is waiting for you. A vague "your account has a problem" isn't us.
  • Every link goes to beyondmytime.life — hover over a button and the address starts with https://beyondmytime.life/. Nowhere else, no shorteners.
  • The one code we ever email is the sign-up / sign-in code you asked for a moment ago, and you type it into the app, never into a reply.

What we never do by email

  • Ask for your password, or ask you to "confirm" it.
  • Ask you to pay anything, or to enter a card. Beyond My Time doesn't handle money — even a page's fundraiser is a name, not a payment.
  • Put someone else's words in the email. An inviter's note waits on the page the link opens, not in the message — so nothing a stranger types is ever delivered under our name.
  • Send attachments.

What we send

Invitations and trusted-person invitations; sign-up and sign-in codes; password-reset and address-change links; a letter that has opened for you; a milestone unlocked on your letter; a supervised profile to confirm; and two security notes — a new sign-in from a device we haven't seen and you just invited N people — was that you? — which you can read about under Signing in. Nothing else, and never a newsletter.

If one looks wrong

Don't follow the link. Sign in the way you always do — type beyondmytime.life yourself — and look under Account: if something needed your attention, it's there. Then forward the email to hello@beyondmytime.life so we can see it. If you already entered your password somewhere you shouldn't have, change it now — that signs out every other device — and turn on Two-step verification.
