Asking to contribute to a page you can read
Someone who knew the person can send the family a note and ask to join. The family decides; nothing reaches the asker until they say yes.
On a page you can read but don't belong to, choose Ask to contribute. Write a few words for the family — how you knew them, what you could add — and, if you like, who you were to them. They see it on their bell and answer Welcome or Not now.
- Nothing is shared with you until they say yes.
- One open request at a time; after a Not now, you can ask again in thirty days.
- On a page only its people can read, you can only ask if you're already connected — a page you belong to links to this one, or the page is about someone who contributes to a page you look after.
Managers can turn requests off under Settings → People: then only people they invite can join.
